Angels and Demons

I think I'm one of the few people that liked Angels and Demons. For Dan Brown's first book of the character Robert Langdon it wasn't bad. I know toward the end of the story it tended to be drawn out and unbelievable.For the whole story you could deal with it.

I do say though that the 2 books, Angels and Demons, The DaVinci Code are about the same. I just thought it wasn't such a far stretch to believe that there are symbols of science, and scientist could put that on the same line as religion.
Although unlike the secret society of the Illuminati I can see the two working hand in hand.


I guess I'm a believer that science is just as worthy as religion, especially Catholic religion.


I think I should give myself some time from the Dan Brown stories ;)
In addition, who does all this action and solves an important thing in just a day? Only in the books and movies ;)

Living Dead in Dallas

I was really excited to get to read this new book. But I was a little disappointed. From the 1st book to this one things have changed. Like best friends and Sookie is really acting older than one portrays. She seems a bit mature now I don't hate Bill has much as I did. But I don't love him either.

Can't quite put my finger on it but there is something real different that left me with feelings of dislike and what is going on? I actually had to go back and read to see if I have the right person I'm reading about.
It will be interesting to see how the series True Blood will be written for this segment.

Sugarplum Dead

Not sure if this book really was a bit long. Or if it was just the circumstances of my personal life that made the book a bit long. In any case it was a little hard to follow in the beginning. Than I got the jest of it. Sugarplum Dead was enjoyable to read.

I especially liked the way certain books that Annie was dealing with in her bookstore related to the mystery surrounding her life, or just a Christmas game that she played with her customers in her store.
My favorite characters were Annie and Max. Even though they were husband and wife they worked good together. They really understood what each other needed.

The ending was a bit confusing. The killer was revealed so fast and as a matter of fact way. It took me close to the last few pages when Annie was explaining what happened to her sister Rachael that I understood what happened.

Other than that I give Sugarplum Dead 5

Brian Boru Emperor of the Irish

I've heard a lot about Brian Boru since I was younger. My dad used to talk about him. But he used to talk more on the wars that he won and how he fought them.

This book gives I say, a softer look about Brian Boru. What he was like with his children and what he really thought about uniting Ireland.
This book was a short read and gave me an insight of who this man was. And why the people of ago were one and called themselves "Irish"

Smoking Poppy

This was the first book that I read from Graham Joyce.
I thought it a little slow in the beginning but pick up. And I thought it a good book. At first I thought this book was something that I seen a movie on. As I read I knew it wasn't the same.

I was amazed at the character Dan who was such a hard head and cared for his own feelings. Until whoops he needs to go to Asia for his daughter. And the man, Mick who Dan didn't care for stood by him.

He saw how the people acted around the poppy fields. And his befriended Mick and son Phil how Dan saw their souls were genuine.
It was an adventure for him to bring his daughter back and find out the true Dan. Long trip but well worth it.

I would recommend this book. A BookCrossing book that will be on it's way to one of our bookcrossers.
