The Christmas Train

I enjoyed this book. Always like a nice Christmas book to read around the holidays. Christmas is my favorite holiday. And trains are very special to me also. It's something I shared with my dad.

I don't know what it is about trains. You don't take the trains to get somewhere fast. You take it for the journey itself. To be surprised. And I think that is why I enjoyed the characters of Tom, Eleanor, Max, and the Cap Unlimited and The Chief staff. Trains are nice over Christmas. People are in good moods. Great way for family to travel together.
I know if I had the chance that's what I would be doing. It's like people are ready to meet the country, they're looking for friendship,a warm body to talk to. How do you put a valve on that? I think you can't

Second chances for Tom and Eleanor. A wedding and a little bit of mystery. Cute for the holiday.I like the twist at the end was. A clever way of getting things done ;) Granted this is the first book of David Baldacci I read. I hear that he is a mystery writer and Christmas Train is a bit off his mark but we need a little soft around the holidays.

The short story at the end was nice. Waiting for Santa. I want to believe that there is someone that I lost looking out for me. And what better to have a daughter guide your way.

Fiddle Dee Death

I met these authors about 2 years ago at a bookcrossing convention in South Carolina. Natually I never had a author sign a book for me. So I thought it so cool that I would have this autographed copy. I never got to read it til now.

I can say this is a cute little mystery book. Just what it says, "Just a little murder"

The characters are interesting. I like how the three girls are family and the eldest member likes to get the others involved in the mystery. I especially like Lindsay. She drinks Coke as I do and loves and has a collection of stuffed animals even as a child. A girl after my own heart. Being that it is in the South you feel like your there at the plantation. It is a neat reason why everything is like a purple :)

It was though a bit difficult for me to get in the story till the six chapter. Than I found myself laughing and peeking to see what next would happen.


This is a book that will be in my permanent collection.

and am looking forward to reading the next book that Caroline Cousins reintroduce the characters again

Treasure Island

So many things seem to remind me of the story Treasure Island. Especially since my kids worked up at Treasure Island in the past years. And I think I heard that Survivor was focusing the game as the famous story Treasure Island. Than I knew that I had to read it.

I think Treasure Island is a adventure store because of both the plot and colorful characters. Who would think a boy would go on this ship to hunt for gold with all these characters such as Long John Silver with one leg :)

This is a story for everyone. Young, old, boy, girl, makes no difference we have dream t of finding something precious and going through exciting mishaps and calm happenings.

I think treasure can be used for other quests such as the Olympics. When someone participates in that race in hopes of a gold medal. That is that persons hunt for their treasure. Even in human life is a treasure search for good health. To live longer to enjoy longer.
The history that Stevenson gives of the treasure with crime,bloodshed,and intrigue is unfortunately at times part of real life. You need to take the bad with the good. And when a person finds their treasure it's up to them on how they chose to have it for themselves.

Some say Stevenson has a message in his novel for piracy for us on a daily basis. My option is no. I think yes piracy does reflect in business, etc. But for the novel I believe he was only trying to capture an adventure since pirates do have that mystery about them with their rouge demeanor.


All in all the story was great. I enjoyed it and will be keeping this novel in my collection. Maybe someday I could pass my thoughts with someone else :)

My Sister's Keeper

What can I say about this book? Well I really enjoyed the story more so than Vanishing Acts also by Jodi Picoult It had a very compassionate side to it. But at the same time it made you think.What would you do if it was you that was having all these medical procedures done to you and no one asked? Is it fair even though you think you have the best interest of your youngster? They are human too.

All along I believed Sara did love Anna but in a different way. A way just to keep Kate alive. She never came right out and said such till the very end. She explains how she feels. Than finally I believe.

There are a few things that touched me. Like how Anna thought about heaven,if it changed a person etc. Also beautiful words that were said about grief. Like grief is like a Band-Aid being ripped away taking a top layer off a family. An excellent explanation I think.
[I say this not verbatim so has to not spoil the ending]
Also something was said when feeling sad over death, all you have to do is look around the person is everywhere

This novel was made into a movie. I just saw the movie, I understand they can't put all into it. But the biggest disappointed was the ending. The ending of the book was a twist, rain, accident, and different characters. The movie just made it so cliche, so predictable.

There is one thing that bothered me about this story. The ending was foreseen. It was kind of watching a movie and knowing where the story is going to go. And for that I give My Sister's Keeper  3

Hot Six

Stephanie gets more interesting as she gets deeper into her work. And for some reason she finds herself in either Ranger or Joe's arms. What a dilemma Ranger, Joe? hmm... I love how she is concerned about her pets, even if they weren't her pets in the beginning. Grandma is more wild than she showed all of us at first. You go girl! Show them that youngins can't count you out ;D

A very intriguing ending too :X
