Dead Until Dark

I heard so much good news about these books. When I won this title in a swap I was glad it was the first book. I didn't know how I was going to like it but as I got into the book, I thought this isn't bad. I like it.
Who knew that I was going to read something different about vampires. Especially some people accepting them as just another person. Crazy, LOL!
Anyways my favorite characters are Sookie, of course, Sam, and who can forget about Sookie's grandmother :D I don't care for Bill "the vampire" too much. That might change later.
I'm looking forward to reading the next in the series.
This is a bookcrossing book and I don't know where it's going to go yet.
I give this book: 5

Tried to comment under the Charlaine Harris post, but couldn't. I'm a fan!

Ditto to the trying to comment under the Charlaine Harris post. I had no earthly (or unearthly) idea why I decided to try this series because I'm not really a fan of vampire stories. But then I heard Alan Ball was going to make a series of it, so if it interested Alan Ball, I thought I'd give it a try. What I liked most about it was the different perspective it gives on being a vampire. I mean, I know that may sound silly, but it's like when I read Memoirs Of An Invisible Man and learned all kinds of stuff that had never occurred to me about being invisible. Harris brings that kind of fresh outlook to this series about vampires. For me that's what hooked me at first and from there, I really liked the story.

Love your blog, btw! Very nice, and I'm a sucker for teddy bears. :)

I picked up this book a couple days ago and tried to read it but couldn't get into it. I think I'll try it again later.

I want to read this series so badly!!! The first book isnt available at paperback swap right now though, just sequels, and I don't read out of order when I have the choice. I'm thinking of putting it up for nomination in the new book club I've started, so we'll see.
