The 100 Year Old Year Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared

My thoughts on this story.
 I thought it was a bit on the longish side. Someone reviewed that they almost put it down because it was long and boring. Well I stuck it out.
The concept behind the story was cool, to be that age and still want some adventure. But what I thought is the flashbacks of Allen's life sounded a little far fetched when big names were dropped every other sentence. Even it was written in the story that Allen talked too much. It was something that needed to be asked of,it was necessary?
